    Hi there,

I sometimes take my computer to a coffee shop to do my work when I am feeling stuck at home. Sometimes it entails working on my website and logging into wordpress to do work in there. Is this unsafe to do? If so, what are the risks and are there any protective measures I can take?

    Many thanx :) xoxo

These types of networks are typically open and unsecure. Hence not safe. If anything you are going to access requires privacy, passwords,....etc then you should not access it from a network like this.

Yes you would want your PC fully protected anyway, but basically in these unsecure wireless networks in coffee shops, malls, airports, ....etc. You are given any nearby hackers/crooks access to everything entering and leaving your PC. And a good hacker, could even access your files if you have file sharing enabled.
