Same Problem w/ 2 PC's Audio Driver

I bought a HP, which has the onboard Audio, and the driver is Legency audio drivers (with Video on board as well). No matter what I do (even go on a 3 hour phone conversation with HP support center) it will no reinstall and when I try to play any sound it shows no audio device installed.

I bought a sound card, installed with the CD that comes with it, still no device found. I left it alone because I can use my other laptop for music.

I just purchased another clone pc, installed XP PRO on it, still same problem, same message. Is there a way to uninstall it and get new drivers for it? because no matter what I do I cannot find a place to uninstall the onboard drivers!

UPDATE

After I installed EVEREST I found out that under direct X, my primary audio device is wrong, the new sound card I installed was listed the second.
How can I set my new sound card as a primary audio device?
I think what it has now, I have 2, yes, two, legacy audio drivers on my computer. I cannot get rid of it using the driveruninsaller PE.

go into the device manager and disable the onboard sound. then make sure the new card is enabled.

 

went to BIOS and disable onboard sound--- did that already...but I am not sure if I "enabled" the sound card...how would I do that?

and still the other computer still have no sound.
funny thing is, the everest on that computer said that under mdeia it is AC97 modem in/out for sound..I think something is wrong!

....sigh..that computer only got XP Pro on it with NO ONTHER program installed...brand new fresh computer (clone one as well, not brand, I installed XP meself)
