Sapphire Radeon x800Pro 256MB, overclock

Hey mates

I just ordered my Radeon X800 Pro 256MB 8x AGP, DDR, DVI-I, TV-Out card

And i have heard about some people that tweak these cards to use 16 pipes, or something.. Whatever that is
And they say it runs ALOT better then...

So i was wondering if it can be done with this card, and what advantages and disadvanteges this action have

I really dont wanna destroy the card, but then again - i really want to run every game as smoooooth as possible

I am really new to everything about overclocking so any advice is great

I've tried overclocking this card to 500/500 and boy does it not like it.. I think I really need to remove the stock hsf and replace it with something way better, because whenever I test it in Doom 3 or after 5 minutes of just websurfing, it locks up and I have to restart.

 

i think you need the VIVO card..

 

yes, this softmod requires the vivo..

 

Actually I was just talking about regular old overclocking..
