I have a pc with both SATA and Eide drives connected. The OS (xp 3) is on the SATA drive (0) with two partitions. Now after ?? it won't find the boot.ini file when starting as the bios doesn't find it yet when I hit f8 on startup it finds it and we can select and boot from it then. I wonder why this is not being found by the bios on startup? Also card readers HD letters have disappeared too.. whdya rekn? rolleyes

    Greetings, robsters1.

The CMOS battery may be dead. It's an easy replacement: there's a good tutorial for changing it at Computer Hope.

Just had the cmos battery replaced so I hope not. I can access the bios settings, but it doesn't show up in harddrives there
