Scam Alert!

This phone # and charges showed up on my checking account. Will see my banker in the am. Look for charges to this number: 877 238 4120

$13 charge and a pending. No vector on this, might just be a low hit scam many might not notice. Google says scam. Hit my bank account out of the blue.

I have not charged anything lately, saving for a car.

Be safe, if I only get hit for $14, no big deal, but damn. Non authorized charges. Toast that account and debit card, and make a new one.

 

Only thing I find, other than scam reports, leads back to some technology service outfit's under construction website by the name of "Team Spearfish". That number is listed at the bottom of their page for contacting them toll free.

 

Last Oct two charges appeared on my statement which I knew nothing about. The card was very swiftly canceled and replaced by my bank.
When I asked if they had any idea how it might have happened, however, they couldn't offer a reply.

 

Thanks for the heads up. I usually check my statement every couple of days but I will keep a closer eye on it now.

 

Found out what it was. I used my Debit card to get some gas last week and forgot. That was the $13. The one dollar extra charge was some weird way that particular station bills debit cards. They show as 2 charges for almost a week, then the extra $1 pending charge goes away.

So, no one is trying to steal my pennies. (bonus points if you know where the 'stealing my pennies' comes from.) :-D I don't think I will use my card at that store again, sounds like a screwy way to process a sale. When I checked my account this morning, both of those charges were not there, just one $13 charge at "Joes" Gas Station.

It was strange to get a request for part of my CC number when I called them. Might have been OK to give it, but no thanks for me.

 

Many gas stations run a charge for $1 when you pay at the pump to make sure the card is valid, which then goes away when the actual charge goes through. It's really pretty common.

 

Interesting Sgt. Tibs. Odd it would be on my account for over a week, but hey, that is how some do it. I generally don't check my account very often. But, when the IRS sends me my refund, new used car time. :-D

Don't know what I will do with a vehicle that is not old enough to vote. My current one is almost old enough to drink...

I've done the same thing,seen cash withdrawals from a strange place where I never thought I'd been got scared then realised I'd been there:-D I'm not gonna fare so well as memory starts slipping with age :yum

 

Nope still got them. I got great bankers working for me. :-D I was almost ready to kill that account.

For the amount of cash I have in that bank, they take GREAT care of me. Good peeps.

 

I googled that number and a lot of people were saying the same thing. That when they called they were asked for their CC number which, nowadays, is a big, shiny red no-no. It surely seems suspicious.
