From what Ive been reading it sounds like I have lop or c2media on my computer. I have the taskbar and it is diverting my web address thru the browser. Im getting pop ups and icons. I had kazaa which I uninstalled and then used kazaa begone. But I still have the hi jacker. I tried CWshredder but still have it. I tried to download spybot but couldnt get a complete download. What would be the best program to get rid of search200 or lop. My computer is barely crawling. I have athalon winxp pent 4 l.39 gig

Firstly, Welcome to MajorGeeks the best place to be :)

    Secondly, try the following
    Ad-Aware http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
    Spybot Search & Destroy http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html
    then read this http://www.majorgeeks.com/vb/showthread.php?t=33201
    then maybe Hijack this http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
and post your log in Spyware forum.

I am completely unsavy when it comes to computers. I read the thread about the fast clickers who go next and next and done when installing that would be me. I dont have a clue. I know kazaa was a major mistake because of all the stuff that came with it. I do have adaware because I was told it was the prog to have. It found 90 items on the scan and quarantined. I used CWshredder which found, deleted and repaired. I have cable internet, so I shut the modem off. I also closed down my zonealarm and norton to download the cwshredder and kazaa begone because I thought they would interfere with the download. Then I was told I shouldnt have done that. After the 2 programs found all that stuff, I thought it was ok. But when I used the browser it was all back. So, I ran CWshredder again, and when I rebooted the computer had value creation errors and parse errors. I rebooted and that was that for the errors but the browser is still hi jacked. I did a norton scan which was clean then I went to panda and did (started) a scan there. About half thru it said there were 2 viruses, then the computer shut down. So I rebooted and ran panda again. This time it said no viruses. I did try to do spybot (2x) and it was always missing a dll file and wouldnt work. I read about Hijackthis but I think it would be dangerous for me to be in registry because that is like the main part and I am definitely not advanced user. I am more like computer challenged user. I was hoping there was a prog I could run that would find and delete.

If you run hijack this and then save log, then post it in the spyware forum, some more knowledgeable folks will be able to see anyprobs in the way of hijackers. As for panda, and norton, ive given them up, Avast and Zone Alarm are better by far, and a lot cheaper, infact both of mine are free :). As for proggies, i think if you run adware, spybot if possible, but make sure you got the latest updates that should clear any spyware blimps.

oops I meant to reply to the last thing you posted. I was trying to figure out what the icon was I was supposed to click for a quick reply and I clicked everything until something happened. Sorry, I do not know anything about computers. I thought it was the hijacker that was keeping me from downloading spybot or completing my scan, because I lost some of the screen before the scan went down. Same thing with spybot. I tried twice then went for the CWshredder. I know I cant be stacking up programs on my computer, that's dumb. But if I run Hijackthis, how do I get the log from my computer to the spyware forum.

run hijack this, then save log to "my docs" then when replying to thread go to "additional options" and select "manage attachments" new window opens and you browse for you hijack log within "my docs" then upload. when thats completed close window and it should then appear when you post your log. Or you could copy and paste your log
