I was trying to run a software which claimed to write xp setup files on usb and all of a sudden system boot .. and after that the secondary partitions of my hard drive like D:, E: and F: disappeared :(
can anybody help me reclaim those partitions, thanks

I know this might be a stupid question, but have you restarted the machine since?

If so, check if the partitions are listed in the Disk Management of your system.

Right Click on My Computer > Manage > Disk Management.
(That's how it shows it in Win7, not sure about XP)

If it's listed there, just reassign them their Drive Letter Path.

Right Click on the Partition and click "Change Drive Letter and Paths"

No no... I meant Right Click on your "My Computer", not on the drives.

Try that as well to go to Disk Management.

Then try the tools tgell suggested. Might be able to recover them through that :)
