Secunia PSI scanned my computer and told me that VMWare View 4.0.0.1796 is insecure, but offers no way to repair insecurity. Should I uninstall VMWare View (don't know that I use it)? Is there a way to update VMWare View without purchasing it?

Well, all programs have false positives. Since it can;t tell you why it is insecure and how to fix it, I would ignore it assuming your computer has the typical security software installed, especially some sort of firewall.
