I keep getting the following security warning every time I change screens I am signed on to Amazon: "The current web page is trying to open a site in your trusted sites list. Do you want to open?"

    Current http://www.amazon.com
    Trusted site res://ieframe.dll

It takes me three clicks on the "No" tab to close it. Anyone know what it is and how to stop it. I really don't want to open a site that I know nothing about.

I think this regards https. Have you listed Amazon as a trusted site? (Open IE -> Tools -> Internet -> Security). It's best to run in https if you're about to buy and pay over the internet. If you have Amazon listed you should permit it.

I added Amazon to the trusted sites and still get the error message. Clicked on "yes" to add site but nothing happened. Can't add the res://ieframe.dll to the trusted site list because it has to be an https site. What is a res & dll?

But do you want it? Are you sure you didn't block it purposely? Are you running SpywareBlaster, IESpyad or things like that? I didn't mean to suggest that you should add the popup it to trusted sites. I'm sorry if I gave that impression. I thought it was Amazons main site that wanted access.

I have been using amazon for years and this has never happened. I still get that error message everytime I change screens on amazon. I added amazon to the trusted sites. I downloaded WOT. I ran the SuprAntiSypware that I downloaded from Geeks. I still have to click "no" three times to get it off the screen. I even tried clicking "yes" to get rid of it. The only thing that has changed, is that I downloaded IE8.

Nope, I have XP Home with SP 3. I googled res://ieframe.dll
and found some sites that say they can remove/resolve the res: problem, but another site states that they are unsafe... Got a BIG gun by chance?

Tell you what - try to run IE without extensions/ad-ons/whatever. Right click on the IE icon and select that option. Go to Amazon's again. Still happening?
