Just verified with my bank that the popup window I got after entering my username/password was not their doing. As soon as I submitted my Username/Password to my online banking site, a pop-up window had a message that "the computer you're using is not recognized...." and there is an option on another one of my banking sites to check a box, if you intend to log in with this particular computer in the future. What popped up was prompting me for Credit Card #, CVC #, etc that was linked to the account, so it could verify me. This was the first time in a long time that I had not used this PC to log in to do my banking, so it wouldn't be surprising if the computer I was using was not recognized. Well fortunately I did not enter anything, and called the bank this morning.

The concerning thing is that what ever is on my PC is not getting picked up by MalwareBytes or Super AntiSpyware - so I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have any idea of what other program to run to get to the bottom of whatever is running? Also, I noticed that Super AntiSpyware would not run - so I reinstalled it, did the updates and ran a full scan. Zero threats were found, but then I attempted to run Super AntiSpyware again, and it would not run - no error, nadah. So something is disregarding the user prompt to run the Super AntiSpyware software.

    Hi

I've moved this to software but more so I can post this over directly moving the the malware forum in that its likely you may have malware that none of these scanners can detect and you will need specialist advise, and that's where the below guide comes in, follow it as written and once you have posted a new thread in the malware forum our experts will assess the logs and if sneeky malware is found they will give you some steps to follow, but if you are given the ok, post back in this thread, that you are all clear and we can try some other things.

In short, this will tell you how to run a whole host of programs. I have ran through this process with 4 different laptops each used by a different person and not been stopped yet. Except for one crazy lady who stopped me as a started, wouldn't let me finish and blamed me for the problem in the first place. Not my problem now :-D

Edit: DavidGP you beat me to it.

brahman - thanks for the link. Ran the all the upfront stuff - everything it mentions, then get all the programs downloaded (Malwarebytes, Super AntiSpyware, Combofix, etc, etc.

Run Super AntiSpyware, and it tells me "no problems found" (don't know exact message), reboot, and then go to start it up again so I can check log file and store it (per instructions) and the Super AntiSpyware banner pops up in center area of screen and NADAH! Shows it's running in Task Manager, but the Panel never comes up so you can check the log file - again NADAH. Don't know where to go from here, as I can't complete the detailed instructions that chaslang posted.

Looking for the next "play" to run.
