Setting Up my Own Domain

    Can I create my own domain without registering it on Godaddy or any other domain hosting sites?

    Can I asked for ideas on how I should start? I dont want to buy domain names on godaddy or any other hosting companies. I want to start my own from scratch...

    purchasing a domain is different from building the website and hosting portion. You can pay godaddy (which i would recommend) to host the name portion ie blah.com, then use any webhosting service to host the page or host it personaly on a webserver of your choosing. Then theres the actual page design which you can do, or pay someone to do.

    I have my webserver and and website ready at my end. Is it possible to register my own domain without spending a penny? I can create my own dns on the same mcahine Im running my webserver and website.
