I just setup a wireless USB adapter on my sister's PC (WinXP). It worked fine, until she rebooted. Now she can't get on the internet.

The wireless signal is excellent at 100%, but browsers aren't connecting.

    I looked in Network Connections, and there's 4 networks. 1394 Connections 1-3.
Connections 1 & 2 are doing nothing, but 3 is the one showing the wireless connection (and it looks to be working fine). The fourth network is Local Area Connection, which is doing nothing.

What can I do to fix this?

If youre using wireless, the only one that should be connected is the wireless adapter in network connections.

    try this -
type CMD into the run window
    Command prompt should come up
    type IPCONFIG/ALL

Let me know what that info says.

Here's a pic of the Network Connections. Here's the ipconfig info.

Can you get to the internet if you plug in?

The wireless USB adapter is plugged in (if that's what you mean).

I can also get on the net if I plug the PC into my router (not wireless).

Could try disabling and re-enabling your wireless card in network connections. other than that, ipconfig output looks ok.

    Thanks! Disabling and enabling worked!

Any idea what the problem could've been?

not really, but you could check the output of ipconfig/all to see if anything changed since the last time. might have just needed a renewed ip address.

Go to Start and Run and enter CMD and OK.

When you are experiencing the problem:

Ping 192.168.1.1. What do you receive?

Ping 108.175.7.71 What do you receive?
