I have been trying to get Skype working on my PC described above. When I try to connected to the Skype audio test site the I get about 1 second of the audio from the site and the nothing until it hangs up. I have tried all of the Integrated Audio Controller drivers I can find on the web and the Realtec driver works better, that is I get more audio from the Skype test site but Skype hangs and continues to ring while audio is being received. The C-Media driver that Microsoft tries to install has no sound at all.

I have found reference to a driver update for this Integrated Audio Controller on the web but haven't been able to find a site where I can download it.
    The file is: 5[1].12.1.3713_adi_sm4.sf.exe

Where can I get a copy of this diver?
I have tried with all the versions of Skype available and nothing works.

Do you have any other ideas what I can try?

    Regards.

    Jim

  3. Thanks for your input. I downloaded the driver and tried to install it but it would not install because it said it could not find the driver.

My PC manufacturer, Cyberpower, said I have the lates driver.

    Any ohter suggestions?

Its probably your dsl, run some latency speed tests, speedtest.net is one off the top my head, post your ping and latency results and up/down speeds.

  5. I ran speed tests from my location to the Skype test site in UK.
    the results arte:

    Upload: 176 Kb/s Download: 2.719 Mb/s
    Ping latency: 144 ms

    Is this good or bad?

    What should I do now?

    Regards,
    Jim
