Slow boot and programs slow to start.

Running xp pro, 1 gig memory, 160 gig hard drive partitioned. Takes about 8-10 minutes to boot. Sometimes the programs will start

right up and then at other times the hard drive runs like something else is running for quite a while before the program starts.

Have run reg. mechanic, reg cure, pc on point, ccleaner, etc but it still happens. Task manage doesn't show anything strange running. No

viruses or spyware. Think something might be starting but can't find out what.
