    Hi,

I suspect malware for my browsing issues. I was using Mozilla Firefox and started noticing a long wait time for pages to load or they would not load at all. I switched to IE8. It seemed OK for awhile and then began doing the same thing. It seems like it has been happening for about 8 weeks.

I followed all the steps in the Read Me First for Malware Removal. My computer was much quicker at first. Then as I browsed more it started doing the same thing, long wait or not loading at all. The computer is much faster overall after the scans and Outlook is not freezing like it used to. It would hang up on the RSS feed downloads. And when I would stop it and close Outlook it would freeze.

    I'm attaching the requested logs.

    Thanks for you help,
    Chris

Here is the last log and I forgot to mention that while doing all the scans the drivers for my DVD drive became corrupt. I downloaded new drivers and installed them and also updated other drivers for graphics card, etc.

I am not seeing any malware in your logs. What issues are you still having?

Thanks for checking out the logs.

My son logged onto the computer yesterday and managed to freeze the entire system. After logging in he immediately opened Internet Explorer. His personal settings had not finished loading yet and he tried again to open Internet Explorer. H e had a white screen that said waiting for the website.

I did Ctrl+Alt+Del and ended Internet Explorer. It asked to send the error report and I said yes. And that too froze. I left the computer for a bit and came back to the screen saver. It let me shut down from there.

Outlook has a few freezing issues too. Could these issues for both be software related?

Hard to say as to whether it is software or hardware ( such as over heating ). I suggest you post in the software forum for further assistance.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 6 of the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
