Slow computer, unknown malware, and help needed to diagnose and fix

I'm currently working on a friend's computer to see what i can do to fix it. The current problems it has is:
-Slow boot up
-Constant memory conflicts errors on start
-Incredibly sluggish when running

She has many programs on here that she doesn't know what they are, including things like Weatherbug, Spamsubtract Spam Manager, Spysubtract Spyware manager, muvee AutoProducer, and a few others.

Since I'm good with computers, but not the best, I decided to come to the experts for help. We were initially planning on reformatting her computer, but she has no disks for the OS or for the drivers. I ran a hijack this log, and this is what it looks like:

Also I ran Aida32 to get the system specs of the hardware...These are some of the specs from the summary:

OS: Microsoft XP Home edition with Service Pack 2
CPU: Intel Celeron 4E, 2933 MHz (5.5 x 533)
Mother Board Chipset: Intel Brookdale-G i845G
Memory: 247 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)

Please help? This computer has been running like hell for a while. She has Norton Security Suite (doesn't that also slow down performance?) and I was thinking maybe it's just the lack of memory that could also be a problem?

Sounds like you have hardware/memory problems! But to be sure you have no malware issues you must follow the below procedures. HijackThis is the very last thing we ask for.

Uninstall all programs that she does not know the origin of. Some of the ones you listed are valid programs but if she did not buy them or did not get them from her ISP or similar then they are probably just demos and are not needed.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender

Bitdefender - from step 6

Panda Scan - from step 6

runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat

newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
