Good day. Recently I have been experiencing web pages loading slowly and sometimes not opening at all. Also, I get disconnected randomly but my modem will stay online. Of all the scans I think that RK was the only one that detected anything but I will include the other scans as well.

    Hello, ManWarBear

Do you have a customized Hosts file, HOSTS.MVP? If not include it by adding the Repairs to the below:
Now re-scan with Hitman Pro and have it delete everything under the headings of
    • Potential Unwanted Programs
    Ignore all other detections.
    Afterwards, click the Next button.
Now reboot the PC in order for the changes to take affect.

After reboot and when you are back in Windows, rescan with HitmanPro and attach the new log.

Now please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Make sure to shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Upload JRT.txt to your next message.

Next download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
    • When it's done you'll see: Pending: Please uncheck elements you don't want removed.
    • Now click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
    • Upload this log to your next reply.

    Using Windows Explorer, delete:
    C:\ProgramData\{FD6F83C0-EC70-4581-8361-C70CD1AA4B98}

Tell me how your pc is running.

I do use a modified hosts file so I chose to ignore hitmanpro's detection of it. I can't find the location C:\ProgramData\{FD6F83C0-EC70-4581-8361-C70CD1AA4B98} I think this may be due to a system restore that I had to run yesterday. That restore may have gotten rid of some potential problems.

    What malware problems remain?

Once in a while, when I try to google something or when I type a site address into the url bar the page just hangs there for a minute, which is abnormal. Other than that, everything seems to be working normally.

OK - the last tool we'll use:

Please download ZHPcleaner to your desktop.
    • Close all applications (including your web browsers and antivirus)
    • Double-click on ZHPCleaner to run the tool.
    • If you are using Windows Vista, 7/8/10; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click ZHPCleaner and select "Run as Administrator".
    • Please click the "J'accepte/I agree" button.
      • First press the "Scanner" button. Be patient, the scan takes longer than 5mins.
      • Then press the ''Repair'' button.
    • Browsers will automatically shut down.
    • A logfile will automatically open after the scan has finished.
    • Please upload that logfile with your next reply.

Note: After you have posted and you're still on the site, refresh your browser every so often. You've missed a few quick reply requests.

Is the pc now running better after running the above?

Here is the ZHP log. I apologize for late responses. It has been my experience that most techs on this site are very busy people and normally much time goes by before they are able to get back to me. I will keep an eye on my browser's loading times to see if it is back to normal or not.

No need to apologize. My reply was meant to remind you "Don't just look at your thread reply, refresh your viewing by going to the homepage". I've seen you online but couldn't get your attention. ;)

    :) You're welcome.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase it, it provide no protection. It do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and re-enable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7/8/10 - it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double-click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. If you are running Win 7/8/10, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 6 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work through the below link:

Thank you, dr.moriarty, but I am experiencing new questionable activity. When I type in a url address, sometimes it hangs like it did before, but then it loads to an error page, like you would see when a website is down. So, I then use a site that detects when a link is really down or not, and it comes back as being up (indicating that it's only me).

So, I deleted chrome altogether because chrome was initially giving me a bunch of issues and it wasn't letting me open content on certain pages. I plugged my ethernet cable into my laptop and it has no issues as far as my connection goes. It doesn't hang, slow, or timeout when I do searches or try to open a separate page. This led me to believe that I there is a problem with my wireless adapter itself. The advice that I got was to send my laptop back. I may just do that in the near future, but currently, whenever I try to open a page that has flash objects on it, my browser freezes and repeatedly spits out a UI hang error. The only way that I can remedy this is to uninstall adobe flash completely. Could THIS part of my problem be malware related?

Are you using the latest Adobe Flash Player version 23.0.0.162?

Go here ==> https://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ and click on the SCAN NOW radio button > save the esetonlinescanner_enu.exe Binary file to your Desktop > then right-click and choose "Run as Administrator". *Be patient! The scan can take 2hours or more.

I reinstalled chrome, which keeps me from having to download flash, but for some reason I can't import my bookmarks from firefox. Chrome says that it's importing them but then nothing happens. I will have to run that scan sometime tomorrow morning. I will post the logs as soon as I do.

The scan came back clean. There was no option to get a log or txt file.

:) That confirms that your system is clean and the remedy lies elsewhere.
