greetings , if you own this case , you might want to make this simple cover to hide those psu wires .
the cover is made from a SQUARE PLASTIC BUCKET .
i used a dog biscut bucket . ha ha .

id like to thank my wife for her toll paints , and for painting the cover for me .

this is my first small mod .
    im happy with it .
    thanks for reading .
    cheers .

    Nice work there littlejohn!

Definitely looks a lot cleaner inside the case with your bucket mod, lol..

I also like a clean looking case. :)

I just switched over to a new Thermaltake Soprano case and I'm in the process of modding that now.

The case came with two 120mm fans and one 90mm fan with a nice side panel window. But none of the fans have LED lights so the case is pitch black inside and you can't see any of the components which kind of defeats the point of having a panel window. :(

I'm adding a pair of cathode lights to brighten it up inside, it should look nice once completed.

I will post some pics once I've installed cathode light kit I just bought.

im thinking about ordering a vantec nexus fan lite conteroller .
it has 2 blue cold cathode lites included .
id like to see your case with those lites installed .
ill keep an eye on this post for your pics .

    cheers mate .

    happy modding there .

Two blue cathode lights is what I'm adding.

I picked up a pair of comp usa brand cathode lights the other day. hopefully there not to cheaply made.

    I'll post pick later -

    cheers.

I just realized this should probably be in the cooling and modding section instead of hardware section so I will post my pics there.

    Sorry mods. :)

Estima8tor, a cclk works great in your case. In addition, Vantec makes some UV case fans & expansion slot covers in orange, greenn & blue,

littlejohn1959, nice mod. I love the case, but there's one thing that prevents me from giving it a 10/10. That's, one will have trouble plugging in a DVI-to-VGA converter in the topmost slot in the back.

There's no clearance in the topmost slot.

    Mine is silver this:

    nice case also ..

yes i was aware if the dvi problem . i had to cut the gpu slot to make it wider so my monitor could fit .
i made ANTEC aware of the problem . they replied that they were aware of this problem , and that a new nine hundred was allready being manufactured .
they offered to send me a new case , free of charge , but i declined . my case is fine .

im thinking the problem with the case , is fixed .
i hope so anyways . not everyone would have the tools to cut the case . its a bit of a hassle for sure .

    i have 2 coolers ordered , both zalman , cpu 9500 , gpu vf 900 .
i MAY do a bit of overclocking , when i gets my nerve up . ha ha .
    thanks for the reply .
    cheers .

Wow. Gotta give props to Antec for going out of their way.

cnps9500 & vf900 are the best from zalman. My friend has the 9500 & he loves it. It's a SNAP to install. The easiest to install hsf I've ever used.

    Have fun.

i do have the as5 ordered with my coolers .
it is suppose to be great stuff .
    any taughts ?

Estima8tor, good work. Looks great. Gives me the idea of running a 2nd CCLK.

littlejohn1959, I don't use bundled themal paste except for the chipset coolers. I always use AS5 for cpu coolers. AS5 won't make a difference in terms of temps initially. After a while, it will.

Oh yea, the light tube is held by 2 caps that have adhersive (double-sided tapes). Try to find a good spot before taping them onto the case. Also, some CCLKs have on/off switches which are a bonus.

The lights are mounted with double sided tape which I'm sure is going to let go at some point.

I will be replacing the tape with Velcro pads which will be much more secure.

AS5 is definitely the choice thermal paste but I used the Zalman paste on my X800GTO GPU I have in my secondary system. I have that card highly overclocked and the Zalman paste is doing a good job so far. :)

i have this chipset cooler ordered in place of my present crappy asus one .
will i use the artic silver 5 on that heatsink also??
understand , im new to this , and will ask alot of questions .
just to be sure . you people know about this stuff .
i am still learning . and there is so much to learn .

double sided tape for those lites.. might be o.k . i fear in time , it may loose its stickness . maybe a dab of contact cement might be better .
    thanks for the reply .
    cheers .

ZALMAN NB47J is the best passive chipset cooling, IMO. I have one. I use the included thermal paste in the tube.

Like I said, I only use AS5 on cpu coolers. That's not a cpu cooler.

Velcro pads are better than the double-sided tapes. If the CCLK is at the bottom of the case, I don't see how it will fall off. Unless you lag the rig around.

ok , got that part fine .
a5 on the cpu cooler .
zalman paste on the chipset cooler ,
    what about the gpu cooler??
have patience ,ill get it right . 2 out of 3 aint bad . ha ha .

got ya fine on the velcro pads also .

    gpu= what thermal paste??

thanks for the help here .
    its much apprecitated .
    cheers .

Depends. If the gpu uses stock cooler, leave it as is. If you upgrade it to an aftermarket gpu cooler such as zalman vf700/900, use zalman's paste or as5. as5 for me.

When applying as5, use as little as possible. Wiggle it & gently press the heatsink down.

When cleaning the old paste, use a few q-tips & rubbing alcohol available at drug stores & walmart.
