SMART has been tripped - SOLVED

    ok a few days ago i downloaded vba32 antirootkit. on pressing scan i got bsod followed by SMART has been tripped HDD failure imminent. all drive scans failed so backed up and was preparing myself to fork out for a new drive. tried various fixes nothing worked. so downloaded nirsoft bluescreen view, log said fail was caused by sptd.sys ie daemon tools! removed daemon, HDD back to normal. all scans passed! have no idea why this happened but hope this info can prevent some of you from binning a healthy drive. needless to say... today is a good day! :-D
