So, we all know that there are dual core , quad core etc Processor.
    For Example:
    I have a Dual Core 3,0GHz Processor.

SO do the core amount mean like 2 cores = 3,0GHz times 2?

If u know what i mean...

EDIT: Oh and another question! When i put my computer on standby , does it use less power or the same amount?

    You would have 2 3GHz CPU's. Better for multi-tasking.

Hibernation mode powers down the hard drive(s), and does use less energy, and in theory should 'wake up' faster than a computer that is off.

So my dual core w/ 3,0GHz is worse than Quad core w/ like 2,4?

Quick question, does your Dual Core 3ghz CPU do all you need it to do? if answer is yes then dont worry about a Quad Cores speed, but yes 4 Cores at a lower GHZ will be marginally quicker than your Dual Core, but in reality its not what I would call worse.
