    hi guys,

I already went through the potsed sticky about what to do first before asking for help (twice, actually, as i missed the step on disabling system restore :S). the most recent time i did it almost nothing turned up, except a bunch of spyware that panda scan found. before that i had some trojans, but my first run through the steps seemed to take care of them and now my only issue is the occasional random pop up, and things like IE and IPWINS running when they shouldn't be.

Here I've posted the logs from my first run through, from bitdefender and panda scan.

and here is the second run through's logs, plus the HJT log:

i don't have the first hjt log because it was overwritten when i did it a second time. will that be an issue?

You weren't supposed to Disable System Restore yet! (Read that step again - it clearly tells you that at least 3 times.)

Start by downloading two tools we will need

    - Process Explorer

    - Pocket KillBox

Extract them to their own folder somewhere that you will be able to locate them later.

IMPORTANT: You should print or save the below locally, so you can refer to them while offline. You must exit all browsers before running the below steps and it would be best if you actually physically unplug your cable to the internet, reboot, and do not run anything but what I give you to do. Also it would be good to exit all processes and items in your System tray.

Do the above before continuing! Okay unplug your cable now.

Make sure you have rebooted in Normal Mode (do not open any other processes)

    - Run Process Explorer

In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of jkkjj.dll once and then click the kill button. After you have killed all of the jkkjj.dll under winlogon click ok. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

Now repeat the above step for the below two DLLs:
    winjyp32.dll

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of jkkjj.dll and kill it. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

Now repeat the above step for the below two DLLs:
    winjyp32.dll

    Now just exit Process Explorer.

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {B9379CA7-2438-0EC2-1F55-5410955174C2} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\qbpnt.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B9379CA7-2438-0EC2-1F55-5410955174C2} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\qbpnt.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {BD3B3D2F-CD13-4AD4-A92C-721ADBB1263C} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\jkkjj.dll
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [1ec1acdf.exe] C:\Documents and Settings\bugbug\Local Settings\Application Data\1ec1acdf.exe
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: jkkjj - C:\WINDOWS\System32\jkkjj.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: winjyp32 - winjyp32.dll (file missing)

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now click Start, Run, and enter cmd and click OK! This will open a command prompt window. In the command prompt window enter the below commands each followed by the Enter key.
    del %windir%\temp\win*.*
    exit

Now run Pocket Killbox by doubleclicking on killbox.exe
Choose Tools > Delete Temp Files and click Delete Selected Temp Files.
Then after it deletes the files click the Exit (Save Settings) button.
NOTE: Pocket Killbox will only list the added files it is able to find on the system. So when you do the below, if some files do not show in the list after pasting them in, just continue.

    Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
    • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\winjyp32.dll

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\qbpnt.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\qbpnt.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\jkkjj.dll
    C:\Documents and Settings\bugbug\Local Settings\Application Data\1ec1acdf.exe
    • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
    • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).
If Killbox does not reboot just reboot your PC yourself.

Now attach a new HJT log and tell me how the steps went.
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

it said not to until the malware was removed, which seemed to mean after you have done all the steps in the thread. which i did.

ok, going to run through this now. lets see what happens..

If you are still having problems after running the READ ME, then your malware is not removed. We actually would have said, "do this after running the READ ME" if we knew for a 100% fact that running the READ ME would remove all malware. But that is not the case and that is why we said

It does not matter at this point! Just run the other steps I gave you.

this line is not listed in HJT. there is this one however:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {42D746D2-389F-47A6-8C45-5990248A64BA} - C:\Windows\System32\jkkjj.dll

    ?

this one did not work, it said it could not find the directory.

as i posted above, that certain line was not found in HJT, so i just fixed the others you listed and went ahead. i did not get the error message about the AppInit_DLLs.

only one of these appeared in the drop down in killbox:

    is that ok?

thats it for the steps. new HJT log attached!

Make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {42D746D2-389F-47A6-8C45-5990248A64BA} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\jkkjj.dll (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IpWins] C:\Program Files\ipwins\ipwins.exe

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete
    :
    C:\Program Files\ipwins <--- the whole folder

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.
Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST)
    .

Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now.

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

hidden file viewing was on but i did not find ipwins in program files--i think i deleted it earlier on before i found this site, while i was still looking for various cleaners on google.

thanks for your patience nonetheless :)

You're welcome! Just have HJT fix the below line:

    O16 - DPF: {74CD40EA-EF77-4BAD-808A-B5982DA73F20} - http://yax-download.yazzle.net/YazzleActiveX.cab?refid=1123

And then if you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to go back to step 1 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points. Then reboot and enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

After that, you should work thru the below link:

How to Protect yourself from malware!
