Greetings, My new sound card arrived this morning. I plugged it into a PCI slot on my motherboard running Windows 10 64 bit with 4GB RAM.
Booting up the sound card was not detected and so I placed the driver CD into the CD drive and it came up with... drivercd.jpg
What should I run to make the card operational?
    Any thought gratefully received,
    s.

Further to getting no replies and consequently no further towards a resolution. I thought I would inspect the sound card. On the back was a label Item No SYZD 2016.
There is some writing on the black chip on the front of the card it reads:
    HSP56
    CM18738/PCI
    M1582-033E
    0011UGGE

Is there any chance of getting a driver for this beast...?

    edit
Just as I reread tis post for spelling mistakes I notice that there is a folder on the driver cd named CM18738.

I think I will experiment more...

"HSP56" reads like an old Win/soft 56k modem, what external connections does it have on the rear plate? Do they match the photo in the link?

Does the sound card show in Device Manager?
If not, try refitting the card.
I noticed the card is unbranded and the folders on the CD are dated 2009.
Search for .pdf, .rtf, .txt files on the disc. Hopefully there's a document with some info.

Yes, satrow the photos seem to match...
No, Eldon. This is what concerned me most.
I contacted the seller in Hong Kong and they have agreed to refund me a couple of pounds. I know that I paid a little more than that but I can look for a working PCI sound card...
    Thanks for the help,
    s.

    That's to bad.
That card probably doesn't support Windows 10.
Onboard sound has made sound cards almost obsolete. Are you looking for specific features in a sound card?

Thanks Eldon, I was really looking for the opportunity to record 'what you hear'. A facility I had back in XP with the creative Audigy card that was attached to the motherboard when I upgraded to Win 10.
Trouble is when I replace that card onto the motherboard the machine doesn't want to start.
Fortunately I have a USB Imic sound card which is fine for listening. Not so good for recording...
    regards,

Don't you have Stereo Mix in Recording Devices?

All I have in Recording devices when the imic is plugged in is 'Microphone'
I have disabled the Onboard sound card in the bios. The headphones were making a strange noise when enabled.

That's a pity. I have never had a single problem using the onboard sound - VIA. I play my PC through a Hi-Fi from 1980.
Here are my recording devices in Windows 7.

Give it a try. Hopefully the driver will work in Windows 10 64-bit.

    Great!
Open the Recording Devices and ensure 'Show Disabled & Disconnected Devices' are checked.
It will look different in Windows 10.
