Sound driver has to be disabled

    I have this emachines ... it's a T5026 ... it has a Realtek HD audio 880 after I installed the lastest java ... I lost the sound ... I uninstalled the realtek driver and I got sound ... Windows reinstalled it after I rebooted and I lost sound again. I when into the device manager and I disable the realtek and now I have sound. I am running winXP home ... there is some kind of conflict going on ... can anyone help me with this?::confused

    Hi

    Not heard of Java Runtime causing a sound issue, but then who knows these days anything is possible.

    In Device Manager what is listed under the Sound and Video Game Controllers branch? any yellow ! marks at all anywhere in Dev Manager?


    Is your sound still ok now? if so would just leave it be, unless it starts causing issues in playback etc
