Sound Issues After Update 10

    My sound on my laptop has gone weak and lacks base after latest update. Volume is maxed out but useless.

    Hi

    Which Windows version did you update from?
    What is your make and model of PC or Motherboard? (notice in sig you have an HP Envy what version)
    In device manager do you have any yellow ! marks and if so what next too?

    Best options to start are update chipset driver and then reboot and update the audio driver.

    I had some similar issues in the past after a Windows 10 update.
    The built-in Troubleshooting fixed the problems for me.
    Control Panel > Troubleshooting > Hardware and Sound > Troubleshoot audio playback

    It could find a device driver problem, as DavidGP mentioned, and even offer to download and install an updated audio driver.
    Best to first check motherboard mfgr. web site for latest drivers.
    I prefer to uninstall the current driver, reboot and then install the new driver.
