sound when playing mp3s has gone wonky?? help please

all of a sudden my playback of mp3's is jittery it plays fine then just quickly stops and starts again all the way through?
ive tried playing them on winamp, media player and windows media 11. it does the same on all.
ive looked to see if its processes working that cause it and theres none, its a powerfull pc. i cant understand it?

can anyone help me please?

I take it that you have played several different files and they all play like that or is it just some? You can try installing a codecs pack to see if that helps. It's always possible your MP3 files got corrupted or your codecs did.

I had a very similar problem and it turned out some sneaky little trojan had some how hit me. Start with the basics and make sure your machine is clear of all malware and the likes.....

it does happen on all mp3's yes i will try the codecs and do a good scan

 

very strange did full set of tests as of mg forum and found nothing? mp3s still skipping intermittanly, didnt do it last week so why now i wonder?

ive also just realised it is on sound in general, like listening to a track on someones myspace, could this mean the sound card is fried? or something else?

any more help advice appreciated

 

id just like to add i dont think it is actaullly doing it on webpages just mp3 playback
