ive been thinking about buying the sb audigy platinum card, and was wondering if anyone has one (either the zs or x-fi). I like the idea of having the front panel access and remote control, and im wondering if its worth the $200. or if there are other front panel control units with remotes that serve the same purpose...basically having the remote control is what really appeals to me.

I own a audigy 2zs platinum. The only complaint I have from it is the internal cable that connects the front panel to the sound card. It uses a wierd cable that is similar size to a normal IDE ribbon cable. I haven't actually had any time to use the advanced functions (like the front panel) because of school. I have used the digital audio (surround sound) in to make Halo videos from my xbox. I also liked the fact that is has every type of connector I could ever need (including a mic input and guitar input on the front panel.). Finally, it came with great software. It has a nice 10 or so band equalizer that actually changes the sound in realtime and software to optimize the sound and speaker setup perfectly how you want it. As far as the remote, I've never used it cause of where my computer was.
