sounds and program events

Thank you in advance for your help.

Running XP. How do I add a "program event" to Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Sounds/Progam Events/Windows?

To be specific, my daughter's computer is missing the event named "Default Beep" and, consequently, cannot hear some sounds when she plays games in, eg., Zone games site. On my computer I can see "Default Beep" and can assign a sound to this event. On her computer this "program event" is missing altogether.

Is your daughter using a custom sound scheme, try changing the scheme to windows default and apply then ok
