I want to kick people in the head over this . . .

I now have a bar in my IE interface that is a Spamblocker Utility Menu Bar. I want to remove it. It will not leave. I cannot put into words the degree into which I want these peopleo afflicted with oozing, sore pox. I unintalled once, since he uninstall option has gone.

Typically I am content drinking my adult beverage and getting on the internet. I want to kick these people in the head.

Please help me to get his scourge off my computer.

    Thanks.

Not sure of your pc knowledge, or what you have tried, so lets do what I would do first, assuming you uninstalled it, possibly checked startup and\or registry for entries.

Right click on the menu bar near the icon, choose customize and select the icon for removal.

We dont email people, the forums are here so others can read and learn from it, emailing you helps one rather then lots. Another option is to run Hijack This and look for a spamblocker entry and remove it.

I'm having trouble with Spam Blocker Utility too. It shut us out of our own websites via an intrusion detection. I tried to uninstall, but it didn't work. I then searched and discovered there are still many files and some Hotbar folders that seem to keep recreating themselves when I restart.

I got rid of part of the program (it no longer sorts the emails or includes their ad at the bottom of mail I send), but their logo still appears on top of my emails. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

Another problem: Sometimes when I try to send a mail, the system freezes and I have to click through some error messages (send error message, etc.).

What is Hijack This and if available online, how do I download it?

    Thanks.

    Spam Blocker Utility Removal
    ======================

I just spent last three hours on this problem!

    01) More info on the program can be gotten by doing a search on
    word : hotbar.

    02) This takes you to sites (& software programs that) will help
get rid of the problem. But they still charge $30 & they want
    you to buy their programs.

    03) Delete the program (Spam Blocker Utility) through your start -
control panel - add/delete programs. This removes a few files.
    Restart your computer!

    04) Delete the program file folder in your C (or yours) drive :program" folder.
    This removes more files.
    Restart your computer.

    05) I'm using Zone Alarm so I had to reset my security settings because
the program reset my Zone Alarm settings.
    Restart your computer.

    06) Download NoAdware and/or Pal Spyware Removal. They both have a trial
program which can scan your system to see if you got everything.
    Restart your program.

Good Luck. It's worked so far for me!

    Hi,

I've tried most of those things. Is NoAdware safe? I did a scan and it found about 125 things to be removed, but I have to buy the program to have the items removed. I'm so paranoid about what has been happening, I want to be sure the program is legitimate and not another spy program itself. Do you know people who have used it or where I can read reliable reviews? Thanks very much.

    I forgot to mention.

Continue to delete cookies and clear history.
Because there are files there as well.

    Laurie:

Sorry. I did forget a step.
One that worried me (as it looks it will worry you!)

You have to go to their site! They have a program to uninstall
their program on your machine! I did it (Couple of hours ago)
then I went through the steps I explained to you.

I read your note, Reread mine and realized I left out this step!

Are you referring to Spam Blocker Utility's site or NoAdware's site?

I had an email from SBU to go to their site, but this seemed *really* suspicious so I didn't.

I removed Spam blocker very easily. Not at first though. At first I thought I was stuck with it so after a couple failed attempts I left it on there until today.

What I did was I went into "my computer", I went into "program files" (since that was the file I saved it in when I downloaded) found "fast utility" icon/set up and deleted it. BING BANG! Gone! Of course though I went through the "add/remove" programs from the "control panel" when I first tried days before and that apparently must of removed some files. And it didn't appear on the "add/remove" programs list again, even though the thing was still running!

Well, anyway that's what I did and I hope it was helpful. I have WindowsXP, I don't know IF that makes a difference or not.

    Good Luck

I'm having the same problem, but i can't even find the proper website so that I can begin to remove this horrible spam stuff. Does anyone know where to go to begin to remove it?

    Thanks. :p

Until you know more about the program, don't go to their site for removal. It might make things worse.

-- Does anyone know where to go to begin to remove it? --

I removed it by doing several things. First, I uninstalled it. Then I searched all folders & files (including hidden files) for "hotbar" and "Hbinst" and deleted all the files and folders. I had to do this several times, as some kept recreating themselves. I also had to go into "safe mode" to delete some of the stuff.

I don't know if I got rid of it all. I'm going to download Spybot and see what it finds.

    Good luck!

Yikes! I wonder if it (NoAdware) got onto my computer. I was prepared to buy it, even keyed in my cc number but did NOT click to send it through. A little alarm went off in my head and told me to do more research first.

Do you think it loaded onto my system anyway (even tho I didn't submit the cc details)? Unfortunately, I *did* let the program search for spyware -- downloaded the program and then uninstalled it the same day.

Is Spyware Doctor by PC Tools legitimate and safe? I downloaded it and uninstalled it the same day too.

    Thanks.
