I read through most of the procedures for getting rid of Spy Sherrif and they have worked, for that I am very greatful. I still can't change my wallpaper and I am asking for help. I am running Windows XP Home and have run Ewido, SpySweeper, Ccleaner, HiJackThis and Norton, any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Did you do ALL steps in that procedure from beginning to end without skipping anything?

Try the below and let me know the results:

    Fixing Locked Desktop
Also you should right click on your Desktop and select Properties. Then click the Desktop tab and then the Customize Desktop button. Now in the next window that comes up click the Web tab. Make sure at the bottom that Lock desktop items is unchecked. Then in the Web pages: box delete all items but My Current Home Page and make sure it is unchecked too. Then click OK. Apply. OK.

In regaurds to the first procedure I tried, I followed it to part 5 but I did not locate all of the files that were listed to delete so I stopped. Later that day I did run Ccleaner.
I did the "Fixing Locked Destop". However, there were no web pages at all, there was "My Current Home Page" but it was unchecked.
I did save the last HJT log also, any suggestions?

You should have completed all of the procedure. Especially the registry patch.

    Ok, I went back through those steps, but when trying to complete step 9 I got this message;
"Registry Editor; Cannot import C:\Documents and Settings\Thomas J\Desktop\fixadt.reg:Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes."
    I am stuck...

Did you have ALL browser windows closed and all other unncessary applications too when you tried to add it to the registry? Make sure nothing is running when you try this registry patch.

If that does not work. try adding the patch in after booting into safe mode.

Also whether it adds into the registry or not, indicate your current status.

SUCCESS!!! Thank you very much for you help, it truely is greatly appreciated.
I have also noticed that when I open up any IE windows the window will not open in a "maximum" view, any ideas. Also, when I open up the "Taskbar and Start Menu" from the Control Panel, under the Taskbar tab, when I click "Customize", it shows many folerds, 2 of them say "Your computer is infected", 1 says "Spy Sheriff No Protection (extremely dangerous)]" and another "180search Assistant Options.
All of these are listed under Past Items and under behavior say "Hide when inactive"
I would appreciate any further help, and again I thank you for all your help today.

This is not a malware problem! It is something in your configuration. Check in the Software Forum if the below does not help:

    1) Clear your TIF folder and offline content. From Internet Explorer click Tools, Internet Options, General tab and Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.

    2) If the above does not work try the following. Open the Temporary Internet Files directory and locate the image that you attempted to save.
Right click the image and click Open . When the image loads into Internet Explorer, right click the image and click Save Picture As . The correct file type and name should be correct.
