Spyware Guard 2008 fake Win Security Center

I got infected with a downloader, that among others, infected my Windows XP SP3 computer with Spyware Guard 2008. I've cleaned my PC in this order: AVG AntiVirus, Spybot S&D, HijacktThis, Anti-Malware, SuperAntiSpyware, VundoFix and SmitfraudFix. I ran these all in safe mode and then normal mode. They all now do not find anything in either safe or normal modes, however, I *still* have a fake Windows Security Center icon in my lower right-hand toolbar that tells me I need to download Spyware Guard 2008. When I click on it shows a very real looking Windows Security Center but it has "Not Found" for Virus protection section (even though I have AVG) and says I need Spyware Guard 2008.

I've discovered if I kill the process winscenter.exe, that kills it, but it will still come back upon restart. I cannot find this process in MSCONFIG or (unless I'm not looking hard enough) in Hijack This. Please help I've obviously tried a lot and I just can't get rid of this fake Windows Security Center icon (it also will have a little balloon pop up telling me I need Spyware Guard 2008). Note that the actual Windows Security Center icon is still there too.

 

The file was idenitified as Win32.SpywareGuard. My Antivirus, AVG, did not recognize as it a virus yet, in fact only a handful of programs did! Kaspersky was one of them that VirusTotal listed as being supported so I downloaded the 30 day trial of Kaspersky and it seems to be clean. To be safe I am going to run some other scans including yours after a day or two of browsing.

But for now I say this issue is resolved, and I thank you for your help. I guess AVG isn't as good as I thought...and I've been using it for 2 years now...
