Attached are logs as requested. I have run SpyBot, SpySweeper, and Adaware. They repeatedly find and clean spyware but it always returns. VERY slow running computer. Next step will be harddrive reformat & reinstall XP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

What are they detecting that you are saying returns? Are they cookies? Cookies are not problems?

Is your copy of Spy Sweeper a paid version or free trial? If free, uninstall it now.

Your logs appear to be clean other than the below files which you should delete from your Temp folder.

If your PC is slow it may just be due to things that you are running.

That explanation is not very useful without the full details of exactly what is being found. There are many things that they could possibly be calling a "registry hack" and they could be perfectly valid.

Only 1 antivirus and 1 realtime antispyware blocker, and a real software firewall (which Windows Firewall is not) should be used. What we recommend and everything you need to know is in the below sticky thread:

How to Protect yourself from malware!

By the way, you should uninstall Viewpoint Media Player as requested in the READ & RUN ME.

I understand my use of that term is too loose. These were items identified by SpySweeper as registry changes, to be quarantined or removed. I just off-handedly called them "hacks". They were removed, and I am so far not aware of any problems caused by their removal.

I will do my best to follow those instructions.

    Removed.

UPDATE: Since my last post to you, no further spyware found by SpySweeper. No browser incidents. Hopefully "I'm Clean." :cool

Your assistance is appreciated greatly. Thanks. All the best.
