Spywareguard - please help

Hi I am new to this forum
I am having a major problem with
Spywareguard - how can you uninstall or turn off the
browser protection alert window (remove/keep the BHO)

I can not install the newer version (2,2) because the
browser alert has spazed out and is continuously
throwing up alert windows

can anyone offer any suggestions - thanks

Look in ad/remove programs.

Locate Spywareguard.

Uninstall it.

Why is it bothering you tho? Its a good helper in keeping safe from spyware!

 

I have been attacked by a browser bug which keeps trying
to change my internet explorer settings.
I can not upgrade to a newer version or exit because the
popup alert is constantly on. How can I change the settings
to stop the pop up - this will be only temporary as I am trying
the load the update version inmediately afterwards.

ps. I also have the new version of spybot & destroy running which is also
protecting me from browser bugs.

pps this is happening even when not connected to the web
ie. originating from my own hard drive.

should I get some sort of vrus cleaner (Nortons etc.)
can anyone suggest a suitable programme to get rid
of browser bugs ?

Download HijackThis 1.99.1

Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file as your backups will not be safely stored.

Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

Run HijackThis and save your log file.

Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next post. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post as it will be removed).
