SpywareQuake Removal Procedure Worked But.....

    Thanks Chaslang for your procedure. I seem to be clean now. Before I ran your program, I ran the Verizon Antivirus program, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Advanced Spyware Remover and RemoveIT Pro XT - SE. They were able to remove most of the bad files but I was still being haunted with the homepage hijacker. Your program dug it out. Attached is the smitfiles text log below but I need you to look at my hijackthis log (further down) and please let me know if there is anything critical that needs to be removed. Thanks again :)

    Please remember that no logs should be posted inline. They must be attachments. Also HijackThis logs are not to be posted in any form without having run the READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support sticky thread. HijackThis logs by themselves are not a good measure of the status of malware on a PC. In addition, HijackThis must be installed properly (all covered in the READ ME). You HJT log does not reveal any malware but it does reveal a couple issues:

    1) you have no firewall (other than maybe the one in WinXP SP2 which is not a real firewall)

    2) you have no full time antispyware realtime blocking software

    3) your Sun Java version needs to be updated
