    Hi,

I am trying to install a Corsair 120GB SSD drive in my Compaq CQ61 laptop.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with all updates.
My MS Windows 7 disks are Upgrade disks so I cannot do a clean install on the SSD drive

My existing hard disk is 320gb, defragged, only 70gb used.
I have moved all my libraries/documents onto an external drive.

Unmovable files prevent me shrinking the partion to the size of my SSD drive.

Cloning software appears to require the target partition to be equal to or larger than the source.

    If anyone can advise...

    1) how I move unmovable files in order to shrink the source partiton, or
    2) clone to a smaller target partition

I would really appreciate your help!

    Thanks
    Chris

    Thanks for the replies!

A colleague suggested I bypass all the hassles and buy a copy of Acronis True Image.
    It worked a treat!

    Cheers
    Chris
