Stand By missing

Hello my fellow Geeks,

A quick one for ya...I'm using Windows 2K and when I try to use Hibernate or Standby mode, well their just plain missing. If I hit CTRL ALT DEL my options are the following LOG OFF, RESTART, SHUTDOWN. Any Ideas kids??

 

Are you an administrator?

Is this part of a domain?

 

If you have a driver that doesn't support standby, the option will not be available.

It usually the video or audio drivers at fault, if that is the case.

 

why yes its a admin acct
and also on a domain.
What procedure should i use to find the bad bad driver?

Check device manager for banged out device as a start.

 

Isn't Standby mode only accessible through the Power Management section in Windows 2K and later?

 

No.

Hibernation yes. You have to enable it there.

Standby, no.

So I looked for banged out devices
I tried the Windows Tools trick and got the following

C:\Documents and Settings\MichaelC.SOHOMYRIAD>apmstat -v
This is an ACPI machine, APM is NOT relevent on this machine

What does it all mean?? Where have I gone wrong??
