StarCraft

Well , I've recently got back into starcraft ( after 6 years ) and there is still a massive online community for it. So the chances are someone here plays it.

So my question therefore is ; Who here plays StarCraft?

If someone does reply ;

Favourite Race?

Favourite tactic?
Mine has to be a mass hydra drop with Overlords , Oo's , or masss zerglings right near the start .. "ZERG RUSH OMGZLOLOLOL11!!!" ..Yeah.

I play Starcraft still, when I get the urge. I have it playing from an image on the HD of my 3.5GHz P4, so its wicked fast (I don't even see the welcome screens )

My favourite race would have to be Zerg. I love my Mutilisks and Guardians. If the army I'm facing has an underdeveloped air force, or if you can destroy it before they do yours (zerg no good for air-to-air combat) then they're screwed.

Oftentimes, I'll try to infest a terran command centre, and then I can just swarm their air force with suicide bombers, then follow up the the Guardians for the kill.

Starcraft will never die. Its TOO classic.

Anyone have any word on the status of Starcraft:Ghost?

I actually wouldn't mind getting back into Starcraft, I loved it. Problem is I lost my CD Key...And haven't been able to purchase a new copy. (Ie too lazy) hehe.

 

Check out the Starcraft redevelopment that some indie group has almost completed. It is a perfect remake of the original Starcraft using the Warcraft 3 engine (ie. polygons and 360 degree zoom etc.). It looks amazing.

I never played it online but it is a true classic yeah.

Yea i love starcraft but never got around to buying it. you can mod the trial version to pretty much full but with only zerg and terran

I got the wrong site sorry. The conversion is called Starcraft Revolution, but the site is currently down. Google for it and you will find some screenshots.

 

Blizzard abandoned it I believe.

 

StarCraft is freakin awesome! I've been playing for about 4 years now and it's still no where close to dieing. My favorite race is the Protoss, as far as tactics/strategy goes it all depends on the map, the player, race, and so many things.. StarCraft is fantastic though, I only have classic StarCraft right now, I had a burn't BW disc but it doesn't seem to want to work anymore. My nick is "Hellrider[KoN]", give me a call.

 

yeah I still play SC. my race is zerg. I usually build up defence and gather ressources and level up and all. And I attack with a big fully updated and all. The problem is I almost allways loose!

 

Yeah, I hear you! Its easy to fall into that mode. You want your army to be perfect before doing anything...

Its way better to be agressive as possible right from the get go! Even small squads of zerglings at the beginning can do damage that will help immensely in the long run.

Never become a turtler , it may look like a 'delicious' way to win games , but in the long run , if your turtling in one spot , they will find a weakness before you finish your army ,or build a massive army to take you out ( your army will be no where near as big , you spend all your resource on defense ).

Does this game run on WinXP? I was just about to order it frm Amazon, and under System Requirements it only says Windows/Mac but doesnt state which version of Windows it uses. So Im guessing it will run on ALL versions of Windows...am I right or wrong?
