I know that there is a key in the registry that contains all the things listed inside your startup (when running MSCONFIG), but I cannot remember where it is.

Can someone help me out, because I heard that when running Selective Startup, it is almost like running in a form of safe mode, and pulling from the system resources.

Color me ignorant...just going by what I heard.

    PS...I am running Win98 SE

Not sure, from your post, what you are trying to achieve. I also use W98SE.
If you want a better program than msconfig to monitor and control your startup programs try

What I am saying is...there is a registry key (actually 2 of them I think) that contain the items listed in under the Startup Tab when running MSCONFIG, so rather than just unchecking them and running selective startup, you can actually delete those items from the startup items listed.
