StartUp programs how can I tell which are unnecessary?

Hello fellow computer lovers.

I need help as the processess on startup have increased by 25 - 30%. I believe there is a program out there that would enable me to know which ones are safe to uninstall. Any advice............anybody.. going to pcpitstop.com, I believe they have a scan that will tell you which ones you can delete.

Have 1g of ddr ram, system runs great but slowing down due to all these programs.

Please advise.
