still got problems =o abit ab9 pro, a9 error

yeah so..
i've had some major pc problems the last.. year - ish

but i ended up buying.. pretty much an entire new pc tryin to fix it :cry

i had it working like twice this morning
went through cmos, asked for boot disk etc
atm its an ABIT AB9 PRO mobo and i get a 2A error
looked in the manual cant find it
specs-
pentium d 3.0 dual core
256 mb ati radeon x1650
1gb 6400 ram 800mhz
500gb 3g/s WD caviar hd
asus silent square cooler
dvdrw/cdrw lite-on master

i just dont understand how it was working earlier, and doesnt now.
had it running, plugged into an lcd 19" - via vga and it worked
i think i did vga on the other monitor too
i switched to dvi when i found my xp installer disk
then it doesnt recognize it to the monitor
so... couldnt install it... sucks =/

and after this. i took it out-
started removing things to see if it was an error with hardware
took em out 1 at a time - sata, pcie card, dvd drive... and with nothin
ima keep tryin... see if anything going TO the mobo got disconnected =/

 

nvm guys, posted same thing on abit forums and .. they answered me, and it worked

apparently i just had to clear the cmos.. im an idiot much?

 

I put a build together with that exact same board, and you will have headaches over time unless you upgrade the bios.

But you can't upgrade to v.21.

Version 21 had issues with optical drives, so you don't want to use that one.

I don't know if they fixed it with v.22 or not, but v.20 will make it run flawlessly.

 

One of the common problems on that board is endlessly having to clear the cmos at every single boot, because of earlier bios problems that are fixed on v.20.
