I am working on a Dell Dimension 4600 running Windows XP Home Edition.

While attempting a "Repair" installation from the Dell XP CD, at the "Installing Devices" stage of the operation I got a blue screen error message:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer BAD_POOL_CALLER"

When rebooting, the unit insists on attempting to complete the repair, always stopping at the same point with the above error message.

Is there any way to break out of this "repair loop?"

And... if so, how do I address the BAD POOL CALLER error?

    Suggestions appreciated.
