strange pc goings on, help please

    my pc has started to falsh up an error saying

    "the generic system win32 has encountered a problem and closed"

    when it does this i cant get back online until i have restarted the pc .
    when i click the icon to reconnect the connect box just flashes up ultra quickly and doesnt allow me to see it or press connect.

    this only started last night after i ran

    combofix
    sptybot
    avg anti spyware
    mgtools

    as stated in malaware removal. i ran these to see if i had a problem because my sound had got problems so i thought id check for malaware.

    does any of the above create a system restore that i can go back to?

    Sound issues are rarely if ever related to malware.

    If you had System Restore enabled, you have all of your previous restore points and if ComboFix ran properly, you will see a line like below about 4 lines down in the log:

    * Created a new restore point

    Thus you should have a restore point if you wish to use it. Again assuming you had system restore enabled and it is operational.

    You really should have attached the requested logs so we could see what was fixed and whether there was any remaining malware.

    cheers chaz i didnt want to post it until i was sure you wanted it.
    ive gone back 2 weeks on restore and its sorted it.

    can i just ask you what you think might be the prob with my sound? mp3s jump on all players they kind of skip every 30-40 seconds really annoying.

    I cannot really tell without much more info, but often things like this can be due to some kind of performance issue or software conflict with another program.
