    Hey everyone,

    I have a Toshiba Sattelite A505-6005 laptop with a 9-cell battery (it's a huge battery)

WHen i first got the laptop like 9 months ago, it gave 7-8 hours on full charge when unplugged. Now, all of a sudden, it goes dead in 1-2 hours, and the power meter on the taskbar doesn't tell me when it's going to die. it used to warn me at 10%, then at 7%, and it would shut off at 5%. now it just shuts off after 1-2 hours with no warning.

i haven't installed anything new recently, and i use the computer for the exact same thing since i bought it.

also, when i plug it in, it reaches 83% and says "plugged in, not charging"

    any suggestions?

    thanks!!!

If the PC was purchased new and is under one year old, the battery should still be covered under the Toshiba mfr. warranty. I would contact them thru the Toshiba support site about filing a warranty claim and getting a new one.

    Hope this helps. :)
