Stream music from my mp3 player through my speakers via my linein??

    Hey i have an mp3 player that i want to hook up to my laptop via my line in(microphone socket) and have the sound be outputted to the speakers.

    To do this i need a program that will play whatever sound us inputted to the sound card at high quality. I can get programs that will record this sound but i cant seem to find any ones that will just play it.

    Can anyone help me.

    Can't you hook it up as a second hard drive instead, and play your songs through whatever media player is on the laptop.

    ya i can but at the moment im using alot of usb devices for project work and i want an alternative. as i only have 2 usb socket.
