Stuck On Public Profile And Showing Not Connected To Any Network. Win 10

I had previously set up a homegroup for my desktop and laptop. My laptop now shows that I am not connected to any network, however I am using it to type this. It says i need to be on a private network and my network profile shows as public. my desktop and xbox work properly. I did have windows 8.1 and i thought maybe upgrading to 10 would help. It hasn't. I checked my registry and the network is set to 1, i forgot and retyped it in, updated drivers, disabled enabled adapters and probably a few other things Im forgetting. there is no option to change the network and under networking it shows I am not connected to a network. Ive spent about 5 hours trying to fix this any help is appreciated.

My laptop is an asus running windows 10 version 1511 os 1058635.

 

When you upgrade a computer to 10 I believe you have to rejoin the homegroup. Try that. If that doesn't help post a legible screenshot of Network and Sharing Center.

It did it prior to me logging in. It says you need to have a private profile, but it shows me as not being connected to any networks at all. I used that guide but I am not given any options to change anything only to forget the network.

 

Most often, if a wireless connection is gescrewdefay and you know the password, the fastest fix is to forget or delete the connection and then redo it.

 

i did that multiple times.
