I am prepping my machine for removal of a spam-generating malware, and stumbled on the READ ME FIRST step 3 (House Cleaning)

When trying to uninstall J2SE Runtime Environment using Windows "Add or Remove Programs" I receive a couple different errors. One is: " You already have this version of the JRE installed. Please uninstall the product through your add/remove program utility before reinstalling"

The other error asks for a CD or valid web address before continuing.

The Java(TM) 6 Update entry was removed successfully.

Can I skip the J2SE removal, or is there another method?

Skip it for now, we can remove it later.

The next hickup in the READ ME progression happened at the RootRepeal step. I left it running and when I returned to the machine, it had rebooted on its own.

There was no opportunity to save the report.

Should I rerun RootRepeal, or move on to MGtools?

    I have a 32 bit system.

As the instructions stated, if you have a problem with one of the scans, make note of it but continue on with the next part of the instructions.
