I have been building custom PCs for a long time now but one thing i have never done is switch the complete innards of a PC to another case.
A friend has asked me to do this, there will be no new hardware added or changed so i am wondering if
    1/ will it boot?
2/ will it need a new key for the OS( windows 7 pro)
I realize in theory it should work but i am not sure.
I have done some searching but did not find a definitive answer so the obviouse thing is to ask you guys.

    Thanks
    Bill

If you've built systems before you should have no problems just ensure the motherboard mountings are in the correct places for the mounting holes.
The operating system will have no idea its in a different case.

Also don't just pull out the front panel connections (power switch, LED's etc) without checking they are marked up on the board as some mother boards don't tell you and you will need to do some trial and error in the new case.

As voodoo said... I did some over the years and what he said is true, just make a little drawing of the front case connectors as you well know the connectors usually comes with the signs and designations printed on to just plug in to the motherboard.
