Hello, I recently downloaded Sygate Personal Firewall as recommended in "Chaslang's suggestions" I done there on line scan. The results of "Commonly used trojan" scan said port 7789 was closed but not blocked, Also the results for the ICMP scan said type 8 was open, The scan of all ports said they weren't fully protected but didn't say what ones, On the UDP scan it said i don't have firewall protection on any UDP ports, Most say closed but 3 are open. Is this because we have allowed some items through the firewall, upgrades, media centre, etc. Or should they be closed at all times? If so any advice on how to close them would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Fangy.

    You could try this:
    1. Options > Security > check these: "enable driver-level protection", "NetBios protection", "Anti-Application Hijacking"; uncheck "Allow Token Ring traffic"
    2. Applications > Advanced > uncheck "Allow ICMP traffic" and "Act as Server" for each application that's listed
(Except for browsers, e-mail client, etc., it might not be a bad idea to have each application "ask" to connect to internet- no surprises that way)
    Hope this helps.
