Symantec Corp Antivirus 10 and Spyware

    With version 10, Symantec has added some anti-spyware functionality to their antivirus client. Does anyone know of any reviews relating to how effective it is? Anybody have any experience with it yet?

    We've currently got SAV version 9 at my workplace, and we have no enterprise anti-spyware software at the moment. Any recommendations for enterprise-level anti-spyware?

    I have no experience with it yet. Both Symantec and McAfee are getting into this internet security concept stuff. While I have not been using these total packages, they have not been anymore effective, and in many cases, they are less effective, than free stuff. They are also rather bloated.

    Yeah, unfortunately there's no Spybot Enterprise or SpywareBlaster Enterprise. No corporation is going to deploy unsupported software when they can get support. Us geeks in the trenches know it's the best, but they can't be sold for enterprise solutions.

    I'm probably back to pushing for Ad-Aware Enterprise.

    Checkout Webroot's Spy Sweeper. I find it to be very good.

    Also check out Sunbelt Software's CounterSpy

    Using these along with a good antivirus program and obviously a firewall is a pretty good solution. However, you are right! Many corporations will go for packages from companies like Symantec and McAfee. I work for a large company and they require McAfee's Viruscan to be install on all PCs connecting to the corporate network. But we do not use the total internet security type package. We only use their AV.
