That's what I got when I tried to open a program, recently, and I was wondering how to fix it. I've looked around and googled it, but I have no luck with that method.... So could anyone tell me how to fix it?

You need to supply more info.
What version of windows are you running as well as service packs.
What program gave that error or is it every program?
Have you tried a restore point to see if going back in time fixes the error?

All you need to do is ask. It's really not like me not to include as much information as I can... must be having an off day, lol

What version of windows are you running as well as service packs.
Windows XP, Home Edition '02, SP3

What program gave that error or is it every program?
Just this thing that my brother insists that we need... Yugioh Card Maker, version 1.0

Have you tried a restore point to see if going back in time fixes the error?
Didn't think it would help. I haven't done anything with those kinds of files before.

    Google brought me here:

    http://www.xtremevbtalk.com/showpost.php?p=378531&postcount=12

If you need help using regsvr32.exe let us know

  5. dannskunk

That I do. Since double clicking it only got me an error telling me there was no specified file, I'm lead to believe that you drag and drop the icon onto the regsvr.exe, though, I don't want to ruin anything, or move something that's not supposed to be moved, etc.

EDIT: also, don't know how I missed it if it was simple as googling it.... maybe my scanning skills aren't very proficient...

    No problem

First open a command prompt window (Start > Run > cmd)
you should now see a box window with a black background and grey letters

    Type in the following:
Note:: There is a space after regsvr32

I just googled the error code: &H8007007E (-2147024770)
I think it was the 3rd result

.....ok, First, I realized that I didn't have msinet.ocx to begin with, so I got it, and put it in the c:\windows\System folder. Then, I ran what you said in the command prompt and it didn't work.

Where did you get this file from?

Regardless, i'll try to find something else we can try.

OK, update on the scannow command... it finished, and disappeared.... nothing else happened.

Go into more detail on this. What error message did you receive exactly.

The script itself worked, it said something to the effect of that the file was fixed, though I'm still getting an identical error message from the program with a problem when I try to run it.

    K, now try the following:

Open the command prompt window again (Start > run > cmd)
    Type in:
Pressing ENTER after each line. Please report if you got a successful message or not.
Let me know if this changes anything when you try to run yugioh card maker

If this doesn't work, I'd recommend reinstalling yugioh card maker. Backing up any files associated with it first.

    This is what I got:

    regsvr32 C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\yugioh card maker\COMDLG32.OCX:
    regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\comdlg32.dll:
    regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\comdlg32.ocx
    regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\comdlg32.dll

Sorry i should have been more specific. I left out some quotation marks which are important
Try this one instead, including the quotation marks.

Are you running this application from your Desktop? In the folder yugioh card maker?

    That is correct.

I ran the command as you typed, and the result was this:
DllRegisterServer in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\yugioh card maker\COMDLG32.OCX succeeded.

I gave you the only link that I had... My brother told me that he had to do some searching; he said the site for it was down. Said site seems to be running just fine, though... I don't know why he would download it if he could just do the same thing on the net....

I found where to download it, but the site has a poor rating so I won't link it here. But i'm reading..

the link it takes me to is broken, but it looks like it's ActiveX related. Which can probably be fixed by doing the following:

    Start > run > inetcpl.cpl
    SECURITY TAB
Reset all Zones to default level
    [IMG]
Then go to the ADVANCED TAB
Select RESTORE ADVANCED SETTINGS (not to be confused with Reset...)
press OK to exit out of these settings

Retry the program? It's working for me at least

Is that good or bad? I know bad, that the link's broken and all, but is ActiveX easy to work with and sort out?

This is one stubborn error... it's still there after I installed and tried the card maker again. I'll try re-installing the card maker again.

Ok, I think I found the solution after doing some research

Continue to download and install that Active X Control 1.6 program. from here: http://download.cnet.com/DownloadX-ActiveX-Download-Control/3000-2206_4-10911713.html

Afterwards, remember when you linked me here? http://www.4shared.com/file/aUO9JEHO/yugioh_card_maker.html?cau2=403tNull You're going to need the files from here again. It comes in .zip format, so after downloading, extract them to a place you can find them later (like on your desktop).

Now.. That COMDLG32.OCX file, find and locate it from the download.
Copy and paste this file into the following location:
Now.. open command prompt again (Start > Run > cmd)
    and type the following:
Hopefully you see a succeeded message.

Now.. using Explorer, go to C:\Windows\system32
Search for the following file in this directory : COMDLG32.DLL
    Once you find it
Copy and PASTE this file to your yogie card maker folder here:

    Should work now

  35. dannskunk

    dannskunk Private E-2

OK, now, It doesn't give me that error... now, it says this when I run the card maker:

Component 'F20.DLL' or one of it's dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

Alright, before I look into this error. I want to try basically the same steps again, but I'm going to specify folders better.

Create a folder on your Desktop called "YOGIE TEST"
Don't put any files in here yet
    Go here: http://www.4shared.com/file/aUO9JEHO/yugioh_card_maker.html?cau2=403tNull
    Download this again
    Open this .zip file
Copy all the files from this .zip file into the YOGIE TEST folder on your desktop
Review your YOGIE TEST folder, there should be the following files in it:
    • largemedia folder
    • media folder
    • Yugioh Card Maker.exe file
    • COMDLG32.OCX file

Highlight COMDLG32.OCX from YOGIE TEST folder and press Ctrl+C (copy).
Go to C:\Windows\system32 and press Ctrl+v (paste)
If it asks to overwrite, say yes

Now.. open command prompt again (Start > Run > cmd)
    and type the following:
    Succeed message again right?

Now.. using Explorer, go to C:\Windows\system32
Search for the following file in this directory : COMDLG32.DLL
    Highlight it, Press Ctrl+C (copy)
Go back to the "YOGIE TEST" folder on your desktop
    Press Ctrl+V (paste)
Now run Yugioh Card Maker.exe file from within the "YOGIE TEST" folder

Got the succeede message after the command you told me to run. After running the YOGIE TEST card maker, I still got the new error.

I don't know what else to tell you. I've listed every suggestion I could come up with. Maybe if I was more familiar with that software I'd have more answers.

I did find a couple of tutorials on youtube, you may want to research those.

Here's a 13 page thread on the downloadable version of the program.
    Code:
    http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/22-downloadable-version-post-all-questions-here/page__st__240
The last page, post #245 addresses your error. Post #247 specifies you need Microsoft office's command module. I have no idea what that means.

I think it refers to Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
    here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5555

while you're at it. I would install this too: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17718

Some apps will require these. Try it
