For some reason, my win98se system font seems to be forced into italics.

It seems to be at a basic system level.

For example, when I use google, the search window I enter into, is in italics.
Some message and chat programs show italics.

When I use outlook express the message font is italics, and yet when the
message is seen by the recipient, its NOT italics.

It definitely is just on this one system. When I use another computer to
view the same info, NO italics are shown.

I've reset IE to default settings - no change.
I've tried desktop properties - no change
I've looked through my control panel and posted questions on other help
forums and no one has come up with the definitive answer.

    Can you folks help?

    Thanks

    PeterL

    PeterL,

I would double-check all of my settings, make sure you are not overlooking something.

I did find some information on this and it is possible a program has changed or deleted some fonts in your font folder. Maybe some of the other members that have Win98 have some suggestions.

If not, have a look at the link below. How to Restore the Windows Default Fonts. To do this you must have your Windows 98 disc.
